Presentation Outcomes:
The goal of our presentation is to help early care providers feel confident and competent in using Curriculum Modifications to support the access, participation and inclusion of children with disabilities in their program. Children with disabilities, those with a history of trauma, and children from historically marginalized groups are referred to special education at much higher rates then their White, non-disabled peers. This presentation aims to help providers use a tiered system of support designed to avoid the need for more intensive, individualized interventions and referral to special education services.
Learning Objectives:
  1. Participants will analyze and review Curriculum Modifications, part of a tiered approach to early childhood education
  2. Participants will create plans for implementing a specific Curriculum Modification in their program or classroom
  3. Participants will identify resources (including visuals shared in our google folder) for implementing Curriculum Modifications in their program or classroom.
