This presentation focuses on the critical transition phase for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Blind, and Low Vision children exiting birth to three early intervention (EI) services and entering preschool. It will explore the challenges and effective strategies to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Emphasis will be placed on collaborative planning, environmental adaptations, family involvement, and continuous support to facilitate optimal developmental outcomes for these children.

Hannah Greenlee is an Outreach Birth-to-Five Teacher of Blind and Low Vision Learners (TBLVL) and Preschool Transition Specialist at Washington State School for the Blind. Hannah has a background in teaching preschool and was a Family Resource Coordinator (FRC) for the Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program. She has been teaching in the field of blindness and low vision since 2022. She loves working with young children and watching them grow and gain new skills

We will explain how families and children can make a smooth transition from in home early intervention services to preschool. This can be stressful for families and our hope is to provide information and support for them during this time.
