Building Relationships with Families and Community - Tier 1 Pyramid Model Practice MA3

This training will offer participants the opportunity to explore effective strategies that center community, family and culture in building partnerships with families that will help support students in their learning environment. Participants will have the opportunity to assess and reflect on their own practices, their biases related to connecting with families from different backgrounds and those of the teachers that they coach/supervise, and to identify practical strategies to apply to the classroom.

Through this session, participants will examine their own practice from an antiracist lens, learn new strategies in connecting with families especially those whose culture may be different and explore how they can deepen their relationships with families and create a sense of belonging for all students and families in their classroom including students of color, students with disabilities and students who are bilingual or multilingual.
