On Time Autism Diagnosis: A Collaborative and Supportive Process WA2

This session will provide an overview of autism diagnostic criteria and what an evaluation looks like. We will discuss the importance of enrollment in ESIT services and universal screening practices. The presentation will also cover strategies for having difficult conversations with families about autism diagnosis referrals.

Dr. Greenson is the Director of Clinical Services at the UW Autism Center and has worked in research and clinical settings with very young children with ASD and their parents for 20+ years. She and colleagues at UW have developed the On Time Autism Intervention (OTAI) Project and a framework for diagnostic evaluations, navigation, and intervention in coordination with ESIT providers.

Amie is a psychology PhD student at Boston College and a trainee working with Dr. Greenson at the University of Washington Autism Center. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology at UC Berkeley and her master’s in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She enjoys working with families and has a strong interest in understanding the influence of culture and context on human development.
